This week, we got to sample a great pair of Russian Imperial Stouts for another homebrew swap. It was Brian from Texas and he had a big beer split two ways and aged on American Oak and Hungarian Oak.
We walked through the recipe and compared the two samples vs. each other. We talked about the recipe and how it relates to what we were tasting.
Lastly, we make some suggestions about how to change the recipe up for next time. We’re only really making suggestions because we were asked to by Brian to give him feedback.
Each beer was pretty great in its own right and in the end John and I pick differently which was our favorite.
