Making Beer: Leftovers Ale

My brew partner and I had some mystery grains in our collection; no reference in our brewing books or recipe guides. So we decided to take it all and throw it in a batch.

This video is being published so everyone can see how easy it is to make beer at home. Don’t be intimidated by the guys who measure specific gravity, who use professional grade equipment, or have a dedicated room in their house for this kind of thing. Making beer is only slightly more involved than making bread.

Recipe (we get everything from https://torontobrewing.ca):
~10 lbs of Maris Otter
~1 lbs of “Special Roast Malt” whatever the hell that is…
~1/2 lbs of CaraRye (which we can’t get anymore)
~1/2 lbs of Crystal 65
~1 oz Fuggle hops
~1 oz East Kent Golding hops
~7.5 gal water
~11 grams of Nottingham dry yeast
~2 slightly drunk guys
